The rite of baptism in the waters of the Neman River in Novogrudok District

On the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and on the day of the celebration of the Baptism of Rus on 28 July, the Baptismal Divine Liturgy is held on the banks of the Neman River near St Elisha of Lavrishevo Monastery. One service combines two sacraments: baptism and communion. Baptism is performed in the waters of the Neman. Both children and adults receive the sacraments.
