Belarus Partisanskaya Monument in Minsk

The Belarus Partisanskaya monument stands at the southeastern entrance to Minsk. The monument was unveiled in 2005 in the run-up to the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. During the years of the Nazi occupation over 1,200 partisan groups with more than 370,000 people fought in Belarus. A total of 88 Belarusian partisans and underground fighters were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
