Bison

The number of bison in Belarus has increased ninefold over the last three decades and reached over 2,700 individuals. Some 2,600 individuals live in the wild within ten wild populations. Since 2011, Belarus has become the leader in terms of the number of bison living in the wild, and since 2018 – the world leader in terms of the total number of this species.
