MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – The World Bank has started developing a new strategy to support Belarus in 2018-2021. The statement was made by Senior Vice President for Operations Kyle Peters as he met with First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vasily Matyushevsky on 28 March, BelTA has learned.
In the last few years the World Bank has stepped up the volume of support granted to Belarus. The executive said that among other reasons his visit to Belarus had been prompted by the fact that the World Bank is starting the development and approval process for a strategy on providing support to Belarus in 2018-2021.
According to Kyle Peters, the World Bank has a large program for Belarus in various spheres — education, healthcare, power engineering, water supply, transport, infrastructure development, management of state finance. “The portfolio of projects in Belarus is more effectively implemented in comparison with many other countries. It confirms the seriousness of your intentions,” summed up Kyle Peters.
