MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – In the context of the sanctions, most enterprises were able to adapt to new realities, tap new markets and maintain positive momentum, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik said during a ceremony to honor the winners of the Belarusian Government Quality Excellence Award 2022, BelTA has learned.
"This year, the value of the award is higher than ever. The difficult geopolitical situation, sanctions, tougher competition and the redistribution of commodity flows… All this has become a challenge for our enterprises and a test of strength. In the unprecedentedly difficult conditions, most enterprises were able to adapt to new realities, tap new markets and, in general, maintain positive momentum," Piotr Parkhomchik noted.
According to him, Belarusian companies have used the opportunities of economic integration in the Union State, the EAEU, increased exports to the countries of the Middle East, and are working to expand supplies to African and Latin American countries.
The main destinations for export trade flows that were quickly redirected were the Russian Federation and China. "In 2022 exports to Russia rose by $6.6 billion, to China - $666.3 million, and to distant countries - by $1.5 billion," the deputy prime minister said.
