MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Austria have been successfully implementing a fairly large number of projects, Head of the Europe Department at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Vorobyov said when speaking at the function in the House of Friendship on 7 February to mark 25 years of the Belarusian-Austrian diplomatic relations, BelTA has learned.
Yevgeny Vorobyov stressed that Belarus and Austria have always enjoyed good relations and fruitful cooperation. Bilateral relations are consistently advanced by meetings between the presidents of the two countries, representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs. Economic ties also broaden thanks to the implementation of many bilateral economic and investment projects.
According to Yevgeny Vorobyov, Belarusians remember very well that Austria was one of the first states to lend its shoulder to Belarus after the Chernobyl accident and hosted many Belarusian children for holidays. Humanitarian contacts are of great importance for the Belarusian-Austrian cooperation.
The function at the House of Friendship was attended by officials of the National Assembly, members of the Belarusian society of friendship and cultural ties with foreign countries, and also representatives of the Austria-Belarus friendship society.
