MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ Vitebsk Oblast plans to develop cooperation with the Chilean region of Valparaiso, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA commenting on the visit of a Belarusian delegation to Chile. The delegation included Deputy Director of the Foreign Economic Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Yesin.
On 26 April Ruslan Yesin met with Juan Morales, the director of the department of economic development and international relations of Valparaiso Municipality. “The parties discussed the ways to develop cooperation between Vitebsk Oblast and Valparaiso Region. The Chilean side handed over the invitation to Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev to visit the region to establish partnership relations,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The meeting participants agreed to arrange a video link between the Belarusian and Chilean business communities, organize the participation of representatives of Belarusian business in the annual meeting with the foreign business community hosted by the regional Chamber of Commerce.
Regional economic cooperation was also on the agenda of a meeting of the Belarusian delegation with Director of ProChile Region de Valparaнso Alejandro Corvalan. A presentation of the National Center for Marketing and Price Studies was made during the meeting. “The parties exchanged views on the development of cooperation between the two organizations,” the press service noted.
The Chilean side was also invited to take part in the international exhibition events held in Belarus.
