MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko has held a meeting with Arzybek Kozhoshev, Member of the Board - Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, to discuss current areas of cooperation, BelTA has learned.
Belarus is currently hosting the Belarusian Transport Week forum which aim is to get residents and visitors of the country familiar with the transport industry, Igor Petrishenko said. The event also demonstrates Belarus’ interaction with other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
“The main areas of the industry development for the coming years should be finalized soon. We need to promote all our modes of transportation,” he said.
The vice premier expressed confidence that people should clearly know and understand that the transportation industry in the EAEU meets the needs of the economies and people.
“We are also actively cooperating in the energy sector. We have made significant progress here. We have adopted a number of documents for the development of a common electricity market. We will agree on the remaining points and will implement them together,” the deputy prime minister added.
According to Igor Petrishenko, with the development of other common markets (of gas, oil and oil products), it is necessary to rely on the clauses of the agreement on the EAEU and look for different approaches to their implementation. “We can improve something, but we should not depart from the fundamental approaches,” he emphasized. “At the upcoming meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission we should discuss all the issues in detail and inform our heads of government”.
Arzybek Kozhoshev thanked Belarus for hospitality and praised the exhibition of the Belarusian Transport Week 2024 forum, which he personally attended.
