UAE to buy latest Belarusian off-road trucks
ABU DHABI, 31 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT for short) will sell its latest all-terrain trucks to the United Arab Emirates. The information was released by Ambassador of Belarus to the UAE with concurrent accreditation to Qatar Roman Golovchenko after negotiations between Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, BelTA has learned.
According to the source, among other things Alexander Lukashenko and Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan discussed the MZKT contract on selling all-terrain vehicles. “It is quite an important contract, which implementation is supposed to begin next year. The vehicles are going through final tests in the UAE now,” said Roman Golovchenko.
MZKT has already sold special vehicles to the UAE. Selling a new generation of vehicles is the idea. “It is a continuation of the work. We have built the relevant image and reputation and have proven to be worthy competitors. The UAE side has recognized the advantages of our vehicles,” said the Ambassador. “In addition to selling hardware we provide a range of services such as maintenance, aftersales service, and training. It is a package deal. All companies and representatives of the Belarusian private sector, who are willing to work here, should strive to work like that.”
BelTA earlier quoted representatives of the State Defense Industries Committee of Belarus as saying that MZKT developed the truck for the UAE army. The Belarusian specialists utilized their latest ideas and engineering solutions to design the truck. The final product boasts a high level of quality and reliability in addition to a high carrying capacity and off-road capability.
