ABU DHABI, 31 October (BelTA) – Representatives of the UAE private sector may take part in the investment project to establish a multimodal industrial and logistics hub in the town of Bolbasovo, Orsha District, Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA learned from Ambassador of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates Roman Golovchenko.
According to the source, Belarus appeals to the UAE with its potential in the logistics industry. “Naturally, they look at the geographical location of Belarus. One look at the map is enough to imagine what effect the establishment of modern large logistics hubs in Belarus can have on trade flows between Europe and Asia, including as part of the new Silk Road,” remarked the Ambassador.
The possibility of the UAE side taking part in running the logistics hub is being discussed. “Experience, know-how, and the ability to find and keep clients are very important in this line of business. It is what the UAE logistics giants have,” said Roman Golovchenko.
The diplomat remarked that the matter may be discussed during the forthcoming meeting of the Belarus president with Vice President, Prime Minister and Defense Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “I think a more detailed discussion will take place tomorrow. Representatives of the interested companies, which may take part in the project’s implementation, will take part in the discussion,” added the diplomat.
