MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – The United Arab Emirates is interested in importing more Belarusian agricultural products, BelTA learned from Secretary General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry Hameed Mohammed bin Salem on 27 September.
Hameed Mohammed bin Salem said: “We would like to note the high level of Belarusian agricultural products and Belarus’ great potential in the sphere of agriculture. The purpose of our visit is to increase the trade turnover between our countries in this sphere. The UAE is not an agricultural country. We import Belarusian agricultural products in order to ensure the national food security.”
Hameed Mohammed bin Salem remarked that the UAE delegation included representatives of private companies. “They will establish contacts with Belarusian producers so that we could sign contracts later on. We are interested in various Belarusian products, including vegetables and cereals,” added the secretary general of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The UAE delegation is in Belarus in order to visit a number of companies relating to tourism, agriculture, and mechanical engineering. “We are impressed by Belarusian technologies and hope that negotiations will result in the signing of a number of memorandums. We hope that contacts will be established between our companies,” stressed Hameed Mohammed bin Salem.
