Turov Dairy Industrial Complex eager to penetrate markets of Lebanon, Pakistan in 2019

Turov Dairy Industrial Complex eager to penetrate markets of Lebanon, Pakistan in 2019

GOMEL, 27 February (BelTA) – Turov Dairy Industrial Complex intends to penetrate the markets of Lebanon and Pakistan in 2019. Shipments to these countries are tentatively scheduled to begin in H1 2019, BelTA learned from the company’s Deputy Director for Development and Marketing Natalya Chernik.

Turov Dairy Industrial Complex exports more than 80% of its cheese every year. At present the company has a solid grasp on the market in 14 export destinations. The Turov-made products sell well in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, the UAE, Turkmenistan, Singapore, Jordan, Hong Kong, Moldova, and China.

In 2018 Turov Dairy Industrial Complex shipped the first few batches of cheese to Moldova, Hong Kong, and Jordan. Negotiations on cooperation with representatives of commercial entities from Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, and Iraq took place. The geography of sales grows larger all the time. The company intends to reach the markets of at least another four countries.

China is a high-priority market. Turov Dairy Industrial Complex representatives explained that the vector holds a lot of promise and comes with a fair share of hard work. There are differences in mentality and taste preferences. “Since October 2017 we’ve gone through an entire set of quarantine control procedures in the Shanghai customs service. Lab test results and certificates were issued as a result. Turov Dairy Industrial Complex is the first Belarusian company to ship cheese to the People’s Republic of China. The first batch was delivered in March 2018. Within one year we broadly presented our products at several major expos, including SIAL and the China International Import Expo. We’ve managed to expand the circle of partners as a result,” Natalya Chernik said. In her words, on the Chinese market Turov Dairy Industrial Complex is most interested in HoReCa (Hotel/Restaurant/Café) sector and Bakery (fresh pastry) sector. These sectors buy well such cheese varieties as mascarpone, cream cheese, and ricotta.

Products made by Turov Dairy Industrial Complex met a strong interest of potential consumers during Vietnam Expo 2018 in Ho Chi Minh in December 2018. “We consider Vietnam as one of the most promising countries in Southeast Asia. The market also looks interesting considering the convincing pace of development of the economy as a whole. The growing popularity of Vietnamese resorts is also a factor,” Natalya Chernik said.

While trying to diversify target markets and expand the geography of export sales, Turov Dairy Industrial Complex sometimes runs into various kinds of non-tariff barriers and restrictions. Potential consumers and business partners often wonder whether the Belarusian company has a number of specific certificates. Thus, the mufti of the Muslim Religious Association in Belarus presented a Halal certificate to Turov Dairy Industrial Complex representatives in the Minsk cathedral mosque in mid-February. The company received the first Halal certificate in February 2017 and has to reconfirm it every year. The certificate stipulates that Turov Dairy Industrial Complex offers food in compliance with Muslim traditions and different enhanced sanitary and environmental standards. “Such certificates are valuable for every modern consumer. The experience of international cooperation and participation in foreign expos indicates that Halal certificates give a competitive edge on such large and rapidly growing markets as China, Japan, the United Arab Emirates,” Natalya Chernik specified.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) Turov Dairy Industrial Complex is a modern high-tech enterprise that makes semi-hard cheese and soft cheese using Italian technologies. It was commissioned in 2013. The enterprise was built as part of the government program on developing the Pripyat Polesie area of the country.
