Turkmenistan interested in Belarusian drones, dirigibles

MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – Turkmenistan is interested in Belarusian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and dirigibles, the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus told BelTA.

In particular, there is an interest in unmanned dirigibles and aircraft systems with the operational radius of up to 290km, which are batch-produced by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The drones would come in handy in Turkmenistan for monitoring long distances of the border at sea, for monitoring land in hard-to-reach areas in the mountains and deserts, explained Yuri Yatsyna, Director of the R&D Center for Multipurpose Unmanned Aerial Vehicles of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The Belarusian company has developed a series of mini drones named as Busel. The Busel drones can monitor areas and objects as far as 25-70km. In 2016 Turkmenistan bought batch-produced drones and started their batch production, too. The necessary licenses, manufacturing equipment, and documents were handed over.

The R&D Center for Multipurpose Unmanned Aerial Vehicles of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is busy developing and batch-producing multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes. The company has been created for the sake of concentrating the manpower potential, material and financial resources, R&D effort, for starting batch production and warranty service of unmanned aerial vehicles and other kinds of robots with a view to tackling a number of vital tasks relating to the social and economic development of Belarus and efforts to increase export volume and diversify it.
