MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – Istanbul is playing host to a workshop for Belarusian construction and design companies on 18-22 February to share experience in developing the export of contract services and implementing public-private partnership projects, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Turkey.
The workshop has been organized by the Turkish Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Contractors Association (TMB).
“The experience of Turkish companies is useful for the Belarusian construction industry. The program of the workshop includes the achievements of the Turkish contracting sector in global construction, search for projects, attraction of financial resources, insurance and risk management,” the diplomatic mission said.
Special attention is paid to the technologies and methods of developing public-private partnership projects, which are the future of international construction.
The Belarusian delegation in Turkey is represented by heads of large construction enterprises of Minsk Oblast and other regions of Belarus. During the visit, Belarusian representatives are expected to visit the landmark construction sites of Istanbul and get acquainted with the technologies of their construction and financing. Among such objects are the new airport of Istanbul, the Eurasia Canal and the third bridge of Istanbul, which unites the European and Asian parts of Turkey.
Turkey is the world’s second largest exporter of construction services after China. The TMB Contractors Association is the largest union of building organizations in Turkey. Currently, about 120 enterprises are members of TMB. They account for 95% of the country's export contract services. By 2019, the association’s enterprises had implemented international projects worth about $400 billion.
