MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – The Transport and Communications Ministry and SZAO Industrial Park Development Company will consider the possibility of setting up a joint air freight company, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.
Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin met with Chief Executive Officer of SZAO Industrial Park Development Company Hu Zheng at premises of the Council of Ministers. The sides discussed topical aspects of development of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. Anatoly Kalinin mentioned tight cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese specialists in the course of construction of facilities in the park.
The Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry and SZAO Industrial Park Development Company have been instructed to consider the creation of a joint air freight company. The sides are expected to arrange negotiations on the matter soon.
Apart from that, for the sake of more advanced cooperation with Chinese partners the sides agreed to consider the possibility of creating a joint large international corporation to perform engineering, designing, and subcontracting services in the area of civil engineering in addition to the establishment of a joint factory to make special-purpose metal structures.
During the meeting it was noted that a large step had been made in the practical implementation of the Belarusian-Chinese strategic project to establish the industrial park. “The joint project to build the industrial park gets more evident traits all the time. The formation of the engineering infrastructure in the starting zone is over. Manufacturing sites, warehouses, and administrative facilities in the industrial park now operate. The number of resident companies has reached 29,” noted the Belarusian government press service.
The construction of facilities in the industrial park and engineering and transportation infrastructure will continue. In particular, work to build a Chinese-Belarusian design institute will be finished in 2018. All the procedures must be finished by 12 May 2018. The reconstruction of the Usha River will continue as well as the construction of a fire station, a centralized campus for construction workers, manufacturing wings and warehouses, a center for cooperation in transforming scientific and technological accomplishments, and the first startup area of a special economic zone. The construction of residential premises will begin.
The government work to develop the industrial park will be continued, BelTA has been told.
