MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Trucks travelling in transit across Belarus are required to stop for recreation, meals, and for refueling their trucks only in specific locations, the press service of the Transport Inspection of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry told BelTA.
Transport Inspection officials hand out a map with these locations to drivers, who transport freight by road in transit, at the Belarusian-Russian border. The truckers are required to bear in mind the recommendations. The restrictions are supposed to help reduce the number of people the truckers come into contact with.
Over 1,600 drivers were informed about these restrictions as of 4 April. The press service noted all the recommendations are being fulfilled.
The list of roads and maps to guide transit truckers are available on the website of the Transport Inspection of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry. These restrictions have been introduced as a measure to curb the spread of the COVID-19 infection.
