Trade between Belarus, Russia’ Kamchatka up by 9% in 2023

MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – Trade between Belarus and Russia’s Kamchatka Territory was up by 9% in 2023, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik said at a meeting with Governor of Russia’s Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov in Minsk on 5 February, BelTA has learned.

According to Piotr Parkhomchik, the government and the president pay great attention to the relations with the Russian regions. “The figures of our joint work show that we have chosen the right path. In particular, the trade in goods and services rose by 14.5% in 2022. In 2023, it was up by about 9%,” he said.

In 2018-2020, Belarusian exports to Russia totaled about $12.5-13 billion. “In 2022, we exceeded $23 billion. In 2023, our exports to Russia reached about $26 billion. This shows that we have chosen the right and correct approaches to building our cooperation,” the deputy prime minister added.

“This is your first visit to Belarus in such an extended format. We have planned a large number of meetings. You are set to tour our industrial enterprises. I think you will find something of interest at each of them,” Piotr Parkhomchik highlighted.
