MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – The third tanker carrying 85,000 tonnes of Azerbaijani oil for Belarus has arrived in the port of Odessa, Ukraine, BelTA learned from Aleksandr Tishchenko, Press Secretary of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim.
The official said: “The tanker started discharging oil in Odessa this morning. Oil will be pumped to Mozyr Oil Refinery by the end of March.”
This tanker had carried oil from the Georgian port of Supsa to Odessa.
BelTA reported earlier that the Azerbaijani company SOCAR is supposed to ship about 250,000 tonnes of oil by three tankers to Belarus in March. Belneftekhim Chairman Andrei Rybakov was quoted as saying that SOCAR may ship up to 1 million tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2020.
Apart from that, four tankers with oil intended for the Belarusian oil refinery Naftan are expected to arrive in the Klaipeda port in March. Three of them have already delivered their freight to the Lithuanian port.
Belarusian oil refineries are expected to get a total of about 1 million tonnes of oil from various sources in March. In January and February the oil refineries operated at 50% of their capacity and processed about 1.8 million tonnes of oil.
