MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Thailand is interested in establishing direct supplies of Belarusian products, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of Thailand Koranun Sukonritikorn said as a Thai business delegation visited the National Marketing Center at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA learned from the center.
At present Belarusian products reach Thailand’s market mostly through Vietnam. Koranun Sukonritikorn emphasized that it is necessary to consider direct supplies of products from Belarus. Thailand is particularly interested in mechanical engineering products, especially tractors, as well as dairy products. Thailand meets only 44% of domestic demand for dairy products. Apart from that, Thailand’s delegation would like to discuss with Belarusian alcohol producers a possibility to supply their products to local Duty Free shops.
The parties agreed to exchange information and scale up cooperation in tourism.
Director of the National Marketing Center at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Valery Sadokho invited Thai business people to visit Belarus’ national exposition at the 1st China International Import Expo due in Shanghai on 5-10 November. The exhibition will feature 28 leading dairy companies from Belarus showcasing their best products adapted for the Asian region.
Addressing the Thai delegation, Valery Sadokho noted: “I have visited your wonderful country several times and I am convinced that there are many areas of common interest and plenty of opportunities to promote cooperation between our states.
