MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian Industry Ministry attaches great importance to interaction with Nicaragua and considers the country as a potential partner for promoting sales of vehicles, machines, and equipment in Latin America. Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik made the statement as he met with Nicaraguan Deputy Transport Minister Amaru Ramirez, the Industry Ministry press service told BelTA.
In May 2023 the Belarusian and Nicaraguan ministers of foreign affairs signed a general intergovernmental agreement on export loans. Dmitry Kharitonchik expressed confidence that the document’s realization will provide additional opportunities for Belarus-Nicaragua cooperation, including in sales of vehicles, machines, and equipment. He mentioned the considerable potential for bolstering the bilateral contacts and expressed readiness to offer the entire range of Belarusian vehicles, machines, and equipment to the Nicaraguan side.
Amaru Ramirez mentioned the advancement cooperation within the framework of the general intergovernmental agreement as the key purpose of the visit. He expressed interest in arranging deliveries of Belarusian buses, agricultural machines and construction machines. “We’ve already visited a number of Belarusian enterprises. It is necessary to work out concrete commercial offers soon and determine volumes and timings of deliveries,” the Nicaraguan transport minister said.
During the meeting the sides confirmed mutual interest in invigorating trade and economic cooperation. Honorary Consul of Belarus in Nicaragua Noel Alberto Gaitan Aviles also took part in the negotiations.
