Tentative plans to raise number of residents in China-Belarus industrial park to 80 by late 2020

SMOLEVICHI DISTRICT, 14 October (BelTA) – The number of companies residing in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone may be raised up to 80 by the end of the 2020, BelTA learned from the head of the industrial park administration Aleksandr Yaroshenko on 14 October.

The park is now home to 55 resident companies. “We would like the number to grow larger. We expect the figure to reach at least 60 by the end of this year. Next year we expect the figure to be at least 80. But the key requirement of the government is for the park to start making products, become part of the national economy, and export merchandise,” Aleksandr Yaroshenko said.

The construction of Zoomlion Company’s factory in the park is nearing completion. It is supposed to be commissioned in late 2019 or early next year. A project to start manufacturing solar cells is also being implemented in the park.

The China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone is a special territory as large as 112.5km2 that offers unprecedented preferences for doing business.
