ANKARA, 15 April (BelTA) – Belarus intends to start assembling vehicles and machines made by the Belarusian company Amkodor in Turkey, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkey Andrei Savinykh on 15 April.
The ambassador mentioned manufacturing cooperation as an important avenue of cooperation. The construction of an enterprise to assemble Belarusian tractors in Turkey is nearly finished. There are prospects for Amkodor machines and vehicles, too. The diplomat noted that there are good prospects for assembling not only Belarusian loaders, road construction and maintenance machines in Turkey but also snow removing vehicles.
“We’ve come to think of Turkey as a southern country. But at least six million people live at an altitude of more than 2km above the sea level. Their winter lasts for at least eight months. They have to deal with massive snowfalls and temperatures of 15-20C below zero. There are no manufacturers of snow removing vehicles here at all. It is a good market. If we get a hold of it, we will keep it forever,” Andrei Savinykh said.
