MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) - Another tanker of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) carrying oil for Belarus will arrive at the port of Odessa on 4-5 August, Aleksandr Tishchenko, Press Secretary of Belneftekhim, told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“On 2 August, the tanker with 85,000 tonnes of Azerbaijani oil left Supsa [port in Georgia]. Arrival at the port of Yuzhny is expected on 4-5 August,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.
This year SOCAR has sent five tankers with about 420,000 tonnes of oil to Belneftekhim through the port of Odessa and the Odessa-Brody pipeline. The oil was meant for Mozyr Oil Refinery. Belneftekhim Chairman Andrei Rybakov was quoted as saying that SOCAR may deliver up to 1 million tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2020.
As it has been reported, Belarus has purchased the second batch of oil from the United States. The tanker with 80,000 tonnes of White Eagle Blend (WEB) oil is expected to arrive in Klaipeda on 6-8 August. The oil will be delivered to Naftan Oil Refinery from Klaipeda by railway.
