Tajikistan to host Belarusian expo, business forum soon

Tajikistan to host Belarusian expo, business forum soonMINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – An agreement was reached to organize a large-scale expo of Belarusian goods and to hold a business forum in Tajikistan in the near future, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the talks with President Emomali Rahmon, BelTA has learned.

“We have agreed to hold, in the near future maybe in the spring, a large-scale expo of our companies and enterprises in Tajikistan. The idea is to branch out together into the markets of Afghanistan and Pakistan,” the head of state noted.

He noted that Afghanistan officials, big businessmen come to Belarus and ask to arrange supplies of equipment and food, help open assembly plants there. “We would very much like you to get involved in this process. Because you know the situation in Afghanistan like no other. This is a huge country where good people live. The war will end sooner or later. But the country needs enterprises. People need them,” the Belarusian leader noted.

“Emomali Rahmon supported the project to set up manufacturing facilities that will work for three countries – from Belarus via Tajikistan in Afghanistan. We should show our products first, however. I am confident that Tajikistan does not know about everything that we produce. A business forum that we are going to organize there will be attended by businessmen from Afghanistan, Tajikistan. Representatives of Uzbekistan and other countries are also welcome,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The president instructed the ministers of agriculture and food, and industry to organize the expo. “We should showcase the whole lineup of our goods that we manufacture,” he stressed.
