MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) - Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon visited Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) and attended the exhibition of Belarusian farm machines from different manufacturers, BelTA has learned.
The Tajikistan head of state examined the samples of tractors and other vehicles made by MTZ Holding Company. He attached particular attention to a new tractor Belarus-5022 of the 500hp capacity which is now undergoing tests. Emomali Rahmon examined the vehicles and attachments to them very carefully. In particular, he asked how they can be applicable in Tajikistan.
The Tajikistan leader noted that given that his country is carrying out many construction programs, including road and pipeline construction programs, developing agriculture, Belarusian equipment is very much needed. He suggested boosting the assembly operations in Tajikistan. During the tour he contacted the prime minister by phone and instructed to look into the matter.
Belarus First Deputy Industry Minister Gennady Svidersky expressed interest in further expanding contacts with Tajikistan.
