MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will sign a document on the regulation of oil, gas issues within days, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov told reporters on 20 December, BelTA informs.
“There is understanding regarding the approaches to the resolution of this issue. It is bad that we start using pressure tactics instead of working in the legal field. In any case, a corresponding document to settle these disagreements will be signed within days. We will restore balance and then resume oil supplies to Belarus in accordance with the initial agreements,” Alexander Surikov remarked.
“When the contract was signed, the price was $165 (for 1,000 cubic meters of gas), then the prices on global markets fell, and the price fell to $132. If there is further decrease, the price will be less then $132. This is envisaged in the contract which will be in force till the end of 2017. But the contract seems to contradict intergovernmental agreements, EEU documents on equal-income prices. It is needed to eradicate this imbalance. Our experts are doing it now,” Alexander Surikov explained.
