MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Stage 5 compliant engines made by the Belarusian company MMZ will be tested in Germany, the company’s press service told BelTA.

Four MTZ tractors powered by MMZ’s Stage 5 engines were shipped to a certification center in Germany last week where they will be tested.

The MMZ’s Stage 5 engine lineup includes four engines: D-245.43S5M, D-245.5S5M, D-245S5M и D-245.2S5M. Their output varies from 62kW to 90kW. The Belarusian company started designing Stage 5 engines in 2018. The engines are compliant with this environmental standard thanks to fuel equipment and an advanced exhaust gas purification system. MMZ opted for Czech fuel equipment, in particular, a mechanical fuel pump with an electronic regulator, and a Belgian four-stage exhaust gas purification system. After certification trials in Czechia MMZ specialists and specialists of the Belarusian tractor manufacturing company MTZ did a lot of work to adapt the engines to MTZ tractors.

MMZ’s four-cylinder engines, which are compliant with the Stage 5 environmental class, went through certification trials in the Prague-based certification agency TUV SUD Czech in mid-2020. MMZ received an international certificate, which allows selling the engines and the vehicles they power in European countries.

In 2019 Europe introduced the Stage 5 environmental standard as mandatory for agriculture and forestry tractors and off-road vehicles.

Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ trademark) makes modern diesel engines, gas and diesel engines, and gas reciprocating engines. The company specializes in developing, designing, and making modern three-, four-, six-, and eight-cylinder engines. The company offers over 100 modifications of engines with their output varying from 7kW to 330kW. They are designed to power agricultural machines, road construction machines, forestry vehicles, automobiles, buses, power supply plants, compressors, and other kinds of machinery. MMZ engines are shipped to assembly lines of 49 enterprises in Belarus, Russia, CIS and non-CIS states. The products are sold in more than 50 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and Latin America. MMZ uses components from internationally recognized companies to make engines.
