MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) - Stadler Minsk will execute an order of Norwegian State Railways, Peter Spuhler, CEO and owner of Stadler Rail Group, said as he met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 1 August, BelTA has learned.
“We showed initiative and moved certain orders for Western European states here (to Belarus. – BelTA’s note). This is the order of Norwegian State Railways,” Peter Spuhler said. “Besides, an order to assemble trams for St. Petersburg will be fully executed in Fanipol.”
The meeting also focused on the possibility to produce trains for the third Minsk metro line at Stadler Minsk.
Stadler Rail Group CEO also said that in 2015 the company faced certain difficulties. Aeroexpress was unable to pay for part of its order. “We had to prolong the production processes which were in progress to find new sources of financing. The issue is almost solved today,” he stressed.
Peter Spuhler added that the company is eager to work in Belarus. The factory will continue purchasing Belkommunmash components and, perhaps, will develop partnership with other Belarusian enterprises. “All the products assembled in Minsk are absolutely Belarusian products,” the owner of the company stressed.
