GOMEL, 15 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian confectionery factory Spartak has opened a store in Harbin, China, BelTA learned from Sergei Spiridonov, the head of the export sales department at Spartak.

According to him, the store has been opened by a Chinese partner of Spartak. The negotiations lasted almost a year as the parties explored consumer demand, certified products, worked out delivery, etc. “The Chinese businessman has been to Gomel many times. We worked on the product line for the first shipments. As they say, the game is worth the candle. The opening of the store is a very big event for us. Even an uninformed person can understand how huge this market is,” Sergei Spiridonov said.

The store in Harbin will be engaged both in retail and wholesale. Spartak is planning to open two more stores in China’s major cities, Shanghai and Beijing. Negotiations are already underway. “Spartak will have an individual booth at AnuFood China 2016 which will open in Beijing on 16 November. We hope that the participation in the expo will help us expand the range of potential partners in the world's most populous country,” Sergei Spiridonov noted.

The confectionery factory Spartak was founded in 1924. It is one of the largest producers of confectionery products and semi-finished products in Belarus. It makes about 350 confectionery products, including products with medicinal properties. Spartak has exported its products virtually to all continents, including to the United States, Australia, South Africa and Singapore.
