Slavgorod marmalade factory to reach design capacity by autumn

SLAVGOROD, 2 June (BelTA) - The production of chewing and jelly marmalade in Slavgorod will reach the design capacity this autumn, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko was told as he toured the the Krasny Pischevik-Slavgorod factory, BelTA has learned.

Director of Krasny Pischevik Evgeny Svirid spoke about the innovative confectionery factory in Slavgorod, its capacities and product range. The project was launched under Decree No. 235 "On the social and economic development of the south-eastern region of Mogilev Oblast". The factory produces new import-substituting and export-oriented products - various types of marmalade: diabetic, with vitamins, low-calorie and so on.

The factory launched the production of honey in 2020 and that of chewing marmalade and sweets in March 2022. The factory plans to reach full design capacity in October this year. The company employs almost 100 people, and will hire another 20 as it reaches full capacity.

"Today, the company is reaching its design capacity, but this process is not fast: the technology is being tested, shifts and teams are being formed," Evgeny Svirid emphasized. “We have already passed all these stages. The task is to reach the design capacity by the end of this year. We have a plan, including the one regarding new markets. We are successfully moving towards this goal. This factory applies innovative technologies, some of which are used in Belarus for the first time. Today, sugar-free products enriched with vitamins are in demand. We make marmalade enriched with vitamins B and C for children of preschool and school age.

The factory has been steadily increasing the output and expanding the range of products. Sales are growing too. The factory makes more than 50 types of jelly and molded marmalade based on pectin, gelatin, carrageenan and modified starch. The goods are also exported; most of the products are shipped to Russia, and also to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria and Georgia. "We research the market and give people the opportunity to get acquainted with our product to make sure that it is of high quality and organize. This year we plan to produce more than 2,000 tonnes of confectionery, of which about 700 tonnes will be exported," Evgeny Svirid said.

The prime minister also visited the hydrological natural monument Blue Spring and got familiar with the tourist potential of Slavgorod District, Slavgorod cheese-produce factory, a branch of Babushkina Krynka dairy.
