Sinopharm delegation visits China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone

MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) –Representatives of Sinopharm, China’s major pharmaceutical producer, and the top management of Belpharmprom have visited the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, BelTA learned from the press service of the industrial park.

The industrial park administration spoke about the terms of operation in the Great Stone industrial park, preferential treatment, infrastructure and legislative regulation in the field of medicine. The parties discussed possible avenues of cooperation between the corporation and the industrial park.

Founded in 2003, Sinopharm is one of the largest pharmaceutical corporations in China and entire Asia. In July 2023 Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov met with the top management of the corporation to explore cooperation prospects in healthcare and creation of new production facilities to produce medicines, medical products and pharmaceutical equipment at the Great Stone industrial park.

The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone is a special economic zone with a special legal regime. It is located 25km away from Minsk. The park’s priority development areas include mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, new materials, logistics, digital commerce, big data storage and processing.
