MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have taken joint measures, which have allowed preventing shortages of food, medications, and equipment in the face of massive sanctions, TASS quoted Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin as saying in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Mikhail Mishustin said: “Amid unprecedented sanctions-fuelled restrictions against Russia and Belarus the main efforts in the Union State of Belarus and Russia and in the [EAEU] G5 format have been directed towards raising the stability of our economies. We took joint anticrisis measures. They helped prevent the emergence of shortages of equipment, food, medications, and medical goods.”

The official also noted that attempts of initiators of sanctions to push the Russian Federation out of the global economic space had failed. Today Russia is stepping up manufacturing cooperation with friendly countries. The prime minister believes that it is unlikely the pressure of sanctions on Russia will grow weaker. However, by the next year the country should be fully adapted to Western restrictions and embark on a new path of development. Mikhail Mishustin also stated that the Russian Federation intends to focus on promoting international cooperation.
