MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs discussed shipments of Belarusian tractors and fertilizers to Ecuador on the sidelines of the 32nd General Assembly of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino), BelTA learned from Boleslav Pirshtuk, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, on 6 December.
According to the MP, the Belarusian delegation received a number of proposals. For instance, partners from Ecuador are interested in negotiating the delivery of Belarusian machines and vehicles, primarily tractors, as well as mineral fertilizers to Ecuador. In turn, they are ready to offer medications to Belarus. Apart from that, the sides reached an agreement on implementing educational projects in the regions of Belarus.
Boleslav Pirshtuk underlined that Belarusian MPs are interested in securing real benefits from working on such platforms. Among other things Belarusian MPs are intent on helping raise the country’s trade turnover and on fostering the arrival of Belarusian companies in promising markets.
BelTA reported earlier that Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk visited Panama in early December. While in Panama he took part in events of the 32nd General Assembly of the Latin American Parliament. Boleslav Pirshtuk met with Parlatino President Blanca Alcala. The Belarusian MP stressed the importance of the cooperation agreement that the Belarusian parliament and the Latin American Parliament signed in March 2016. As part of the agreement Parlatino granted Belarus the status of permanent observer in its various bodies. The parties also expressed mutual readiness to establish close bilateral ties that will be strengthened by specific measures to be taken in various areas of cooperation. Boleslav Pirshtuk pointed out that Belarus is eager to establish trade ties with the countries of Latin America.
Apart from that, the Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus made a speech during the opening ceremony of the 32nd Parlatino General Assembly.
