Semashko: Belarusian economy showing signs of economic recovery

MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – There are positive signs in the Belarusian economy. Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko told media after a meeting of the National Council on Labor and Social Issues, BelTA has learned.

“We see some economic recovery, some positive dynamics. We have managed to contain inflation. We see that we will close the year with the inflation running under 12%, as we planned,” Vladimir Semashko said.

We have built a system of exchange rate formation to prop up the stable operation of exporting enterprises. Manufacturing industries are recovering and are expected to get out of recession by the end of the year, he said.

Vladimir Semashko noted that despite some economic difficulties all social commitments are met. Proposals to improve the social sector suggested at the meeting of the National Council on Labor and Social Issues will also be considered.
