Scientists from ten countries to attend Nanomeeting 2017 in Minsk

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Over 150 scientists will be attending the 21st international conference Nanomeeting 2017 on nanostructures and technology in the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics from 30 May to 2 June, BelTA learned from the university’s press service.

The conference will gather scientists from ten countries, including from Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Singapore. Participants will present the latest achievements in the area of molecular diagnostic, nano and electromagnetics, physics and chemistry of nanostructures for the application in photonics, biology, healthcare and forensics.

Taking part in the conference will be Belarus First Deputy Education Minister Vadim Bogush, Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics Mikhail Batura and a provost of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

According to the organizer of Nanomeeting 2017 Professor Viktor Borisenko, young scientists of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics are demonstrating great results in the area of nano developments. “For instance, a project of Anna Bondarenko, developed jointly with the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and SOL Instruments, is about nanostructures capable of detecting very small amounts of organic matter. Now, the project is being advanced to the market that needs sophisticated censors of organic substances: forensics, healthcare, geology,” the professor said.

The international conference Nanomeeting is a biennial event hosted by the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. This time the section of plenary reports will open with the presentation of 3D Nanoarchitecture in Energy and Biomedical Research, a project of a researcher from the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin, Germany.
