MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – The first train carrying oil from the Saudi Arabian national oil company Saudi Aramco reached OAO Naftan, Belarusian oil refinery, on 16 May, BelTA learned from Aleksandr Tishchenko, Press Secretary of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim.
“The first train with the Saudi oil will arrive at OAO Naftan from Klaipeda today. The train consists of 60 tank cars carrying 3,600 tonnes of oil,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.
A reminder, 87,000 tonnes of the Saudi oil for Belarus were delivered to the Port of Klaipeda. Belneftekhim informed earlier that the further oil supplies from Saudi Aramco will depend on the situation on the market.
This year Belarus has also bought Norwegian and Azerbaijani oil for Belarusian oil refineries with transshipment in the Port of Klaipeda (Lithuania) and the Port of Odessa (Ukraine) respectively. A tanker with 80,000 tonnes of Bakken crude oil from the United States for Belarus is expected to arrive in the Port of Klaipeda in early June.
