MINSK, 21 January (BelTA) – Experts from the Republic of Korea have presented the further plan of the digital transformation of the Belarusian economy. The delegation of the South Korean experts visited Belarus as part of a project of Korea’s Knowledge Exchange Program on 14-18 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry.
The project kicked off in July 2018 at the initiative of the Economy Ministry. It envisages the study and use of South Korea’s expertise and knowledge for digital transformation of Belarus’ processing industry.
During their stay in Belarus, the South Korean delegation toured the Hi-Tech Park, manufacturing and IT companies in order to assess innovative and industrial capacity of Belarus. The experts told their Belarusian counterparts about the digital transformation of South Korea’s manufacturing sector and gave interim recommendations regarding the adaptation of Korea’s practices to the Belarusian development model. The Korean delegation also met with representatives of Belarus’ government agencies and professional associations to discuss methodology of the planned research that seeks to evaluate readiness of the manufacturing sector for digital transformation.
The Economy Ministry hosted a presentation of Belarus’ proposals on project initiatives. These proposals had got a preliminary approval of the Korean side. Two of them are to be implemented in 2019-2020. One of them seeks to scale up cooperation in digital transformation of the manufacturing sector. The second one is designed to establish a system of intellectual support of technological entrepreneurship.
