Russia’s Stavropol Krai shows interest in exchange trade in farm produce with Belarus

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - The Stavropol Krai of Russia is interested in the development of exchange trade in agricultural products with Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE).

Plans are in place to discuss the prospects of organizing exchange trade in agricultural products between Belarus and Stavropol Krai at the first Belarusian-Russian exchange seminar “Production and consumption market of agricultural products in Belarus and the Russian Federation” that is due at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange on 9-10 November 9-10. For this purpose, the Stavropol Krai Export Support Center with the assistance of the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in Belarus organizes the visit of a delegation of business circles of this Russian region to Minsk.

According to head of the center Alina Eyupova, Belarus is among the main trading partners of Stavropol Krai, and the use of the exchange platform will contribute to the growth of mutual trade and diversification of its structure. In her words, the center represents the interests of small and medium-sized businesses. That is why one of the primary objectives is to help small private enterprises to enter foreign markets with their products. This is what the Belarusian exchange do, providing a direct contact between producers and consumers of goods from Belarus and other countries. “Here our interests fully coincide. We hope that the exchange platform will become “one stop shop” for Stavropol companies to get access not only to the Belarusian market but also to successfully trade with Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where it is quite difficult to do business without a distribution network. Stavropol Krai has a well-developed oil and fats industry, meat, dairy and grain production. I am sure that all these goods will be in demand at the exchange trading,” Alina Eyupova said.

In addition to entrepreneurs from Stavropol Krai, business representatives from Bryansk, Voronezh, Leningrad, Moscow and Smolensk regions of Russia, and also from Mordovia applied for participation in the Belarusian-Russian exchange seminar. The program of the event envisages a visit to the international exhibition Prodexpo 2021 and the production and logistics complex Belagroterminal.
