MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Russia’s Pskov Oblast is interested in greater cooperation with Belarus in the field of supplies of construction materials and construction services, Vice Governor of Russia's Pskov Oblast Alexander Kuznetsov said at the meeting with Belarus’ Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny, BelTA learned from the spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Architecture and Construction Yevgeny Filimonov.
"Pskov Oblast is interested in cooperation with Belarus, including in construction. We are ready for discussions," Alexander Kuznetsov said.
Anatoly Cherny said that the construction industry of Belarus is ready for greater cooperation. "We are working now in many regions of Russia, including Pskov Oblast. However we are ready to boost output and launch new projects," he said.
One of the promising projects is the construction of the Sirenevy Bulvar city block. Belarusian specialists have already worked out the design of the city block and presented it to the administration of Pskov Oblast. Another example of successful collaboration is a school for 1,350 pupils in the Borisovichi residential area in Pskov, which was commissioned by 1 September 2017. The object was constructed using Belarusian construction materials with assistance of Belarusian builders.
Pskov Oblast-Belarus trade turnover amounted to $115.1 million in 2016. Belarus’ export totaled $57.7 million. The Belarusian exports are agricultural products, food, mineral products, textile products, footwear, and chemical products. The main exports of the Russian region to Belarus are ferrous metals and their products, machines, equipment, timber, food products, and agricultural raw materials. Alexander Kuznetsov noted that the level of the trade turnover shows the sustainability of trade relations.
The meeting in the Ministry of Architecture and Construction was attended by representatives of different industries. The sides raised a matter of readiness of Belarusian manufacturers to supply buses, cargo vehicles, utility vehicles, road building machinery, lifts and other equipment to Pskov Oblast.
