NOVOSIBIRSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast is ready to manufacture high-technology and innovative products together with Belarus, Novosibirsk Oblast Governor Vladimir Gorodetsky said as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on 27 September, BelTA has learned.
“Despite the long distance between us, cooperation with Belarus is of strategic importance for Novosibirsk Oblast,” Vladimir Gorodetsky underlined. In his words, the bilateral trade can exceed $235 million by the year-end. “This shows that our products are in demand and our trading relations are reliable. Nevertheless, we should be constantly looking for new avenues of cooperation,” the governor added.
“We should sort out the things than restrain our cooperation which we viewed as promising. In our opinion, our progress in the field of high-technology and innovative products is slow,” Vladimir Gorodetsky noted.
Novosibirsk Oblast is interested in setting up joint ventures to produce agricultural vehicles and equipment for food processing. “Opening new companies in Novosibirsk will help Belarus enter the market of Siberia,” the governor clarified. For instance, the joint production of trams has been launched in Novosibirsk, which can be sold throughout the region in the future.
