MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Russia's Mordovia is interested in Belarusian-made machines and equipment, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Sidorov told the media in Minsk on 8 June, BelTA has learned.

"We have a great interest in farm and utility vehicles, construction and logging equipment. A lot of work is to be done on this front as we need maintenance and training centers, specialists, spare parts, warehouses, and logistics," Vladimir Sidorov said.

According to him, Mordovia plans to supply fiber optics to Belarus. "We are the only producer of such products in the Eurasian Economic Union. In light of the sanctions, we are planning to launch supplies to Belarus. Previously, the country purchased fiber optics in the United States. Today, the access to these products has been closed," the prime minister said.

"There are close ties between Belarus and Mordovia, including between manufacturers, organizations, in culture. The current visit is packed. We are set to discuss a long list of issues," Vladimir Sidorov added.
