MOSCOW, 16 January (BelTA) – Russia’s Lipetsk Oblast would like to purchase various types of Belarus-made equipment and machinery and to cooperate in the construction of housing and roads. Cooperation prospects were discussed at the meeting of Belarus’ Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov with Lipetsk Oblast Governor Igor Artamonov in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press service of the Lipetsk Oblast administration.
“Lipetsk Oblast Governor Igor Artamonov and Finance Minister of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Seliverstov outlined promising areas of cooperation in trade and economy during the Day of Lipetsk Oblast at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum in Moscow. Lipetsk is interested in purchasing buses and snow removal equipment made in Belarus. Construction of housing and roads is another promising avenue of cooperation,” the press service noted.
“For many years, the Republic of Belarus has been among the top 10 major trade and economic partners of Lipetsk Oblast and is a leading trade partner among the CIS countries. For cooperation to be successful, it should rely on the foundation of friendship and cultural exchange, so we are interested in strengthening contacts between Lipetsk Oblast residents and Belarusians,” Igor Artamonov said.
Two sister city agreements were also signed in Moscow: Volovo District of Lipetsk Oblast concluded an agreement with Liozno District of Vitebsk Oblast; Lipetsk District inked an agreement with Beryoza District of Brest Oblast.
