MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – Russia's Kaluga Oblast is interested in Belarus’ expertise in the development of agro-towns, spokesman for the Architecture and Construction Ministry Evgeny Filimonov told BelTA.
On 6 December Belarus Deputy Architecture and Construction Minister Dmitry Semenkevich met with First Vice Governor of Kaluga Oblast Dmitry Denisov. “We are actively working on the development of rural settlements. One of the ideas is the construction of so-called agro-towns. We know that similar projects have already been implemented in Belarus. Given your experience, we would be interested to get recommendations. We are also considering the possibility of inviting your specialists to participate in such projects in our region,” Dmitry Denisov said.
Dmitry Semenkevich, in turn, drew attention to another promising project which is being implemented in Belarus.
“Indeed, we have much to share with you in this area. The Architecture and Construction Ministry together with the Agriculture and Food Ministry and regional authorities have developed a concept of rural areas development following the example of the town of Kopys. We have already compiled a single album of model projects “the village of the future” for the application by economic entities involved in the project activities,” he noted.
The concept “the village of the future” implies integrity, comprehensive reconstruction and modernization of social, cultural and municipal objects, comprehensive improvement and landscaping, high-quality engineering and transport infrastructure, barrier-free environment.
Dmitry Denisov expressed his interest in visiting such sites. “We would like to see healthcare facilities because in the next three years we are planning to implement one major project in this field and your experience will be very useful for us,” he said. Dmitry Semenkevich noted that one of the most successful projects in this field is the clinical medical center near the village of Zhdanovichi, the construction of which is nearing completion.
During the meeting the sides discussed the progress in the construction projects in Kaluga Oblast, urban infrastructure development , in particular the problems with parking spaces.
