MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – The Russian Ministry of Economic Development would like to intensify cooperation with Belarus, Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Alexei Vedev told reporters before a meeting of the working groups set up at Belarus’ Economy Ministry and Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development to coordinate macroeconomic scenarios, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus is focused on developing the manufactures of high value-added products, high-tech goods. So is Russia. We try to stimulate similar sectors. The only possible way is towards cooperation,” Andrei Vedev said.
For his part, Belarus’ First Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Zaborovsky stressed that the Belarusian ministry effectively cooperates with the Russian Ministry of Economic Development to coordinate macroeconomic scenarios. “The basis for the sustainable development of the economy is a stable macroeconomic environment,” he stressed.
