MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Transneft Company has started pumping oil to Belarusian oil refineries in line with authorized routing instructions, BelTA learned from Aleksandr Tishchenko, Press Secretary of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim.
The spokesman said: “I can confirm that oil shipments to Belarusian oil refineries have begun in accordance with authorized routing instructions.”
The Belneftekhim representative did not specify what companies will supply Belarus with oil in April.
BelTA reported earlier that Belarusian oil refineries (OAO Naftan and Mozyr Oil Refinery) are expected to get up to 2 million tonnes of oil from Russia in April. Prices for oil of the Urals variety for Belarus stood at $4 per barrel when the suppliers confirmed they had the available resources.
Major Russian oil companies stopped shipping oil to Belarus on 1 January due to the absence of an agreement on prices. First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Dmitry Krutoi was quoted as saying that Belarus believes it is economically inadvisable and pointless to pay the same amounts of premiums to Russian companies.
