MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – The prominent marketplace Wildberries has created a section dedicated to Belarus-made goods, BelTA learned from Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Denis Meleshkin.
Denis Meleshkin said that the Belarusian government pursues a policy aimed at promoting the export of Belarus-made goods. Promoting these products via digital retail platforms aka marketplaces is one of the key aspects in these efforts. In particular, the well-known trade platform Wildberries now has a Made in Belarus section where goods made by Belarusian enterprises are available.
The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry can verify the Belarusian origin of such goods as a service. In order to get a verified Made in Belarus badge for their products sold via Wildberries, vendors are advised to contact the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The official explained: “We promote quality Belarusian goods and protect the reputation of such goods from being damaged by counterfeited products. Apart from that, the approach also addresses the problem of unfair competition and dishonest brokerage.”
In his words, the Made in Belarus badge is kind of a seal of quality. “Belarus-made goods are a brand today. In our opinion, this brand will allow promoting goods made by Belarusian enterprises on digital platforms even better,” Denis Meleshkin pointed out.
