Russian government approves documents on trade in oil, gas with Belarus

MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) - The Russian government has approved a document package on trade in oil and natural gas with Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The Russian government also approved the protocol on amendments to the agreement Belarus and Russia signed in 2011 to price natural gas deliveries to Belarus as well as its transit through Belarusian pipelines.

The protocol on amendments to the agreement on terms of purchasing and selling shares and consequent operation of the natural gas transportation company Beltransgaz was also approved. The Russian government approved the protocol amending the agreement on measures to settle trade and economic cooperation disputes in the export of oil and oil products as well.

Earlier BelTA quoted Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev as saying that Russia and Belarus came up with solutions that satisfy both sides as far as prices for natural gas and oil are concerned. The Russian prime minister said: “Today we’ve come to decisions that satisfy both sides. It is important that they are understandable and transparent on the whole.”
