LJUBLJANA, 8 July (BelTA) – Slovenian business is interested in the Belarusian market, Stanislav Rascan, Director General for Economic Diplomacy at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Slovenian commission for trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation, told BelTA.
In his opinion, one of the biggest Slovenian companies Riko is a good example of stable and efficient work in Belarus. For more than a decade the company has been developing ties with Belarusian partners and enhancing cooperation, determining new cooperation projects. The company has begun its versatile work in Belarus from the delivery of European equipment for the modernization of the machine-building industry. Later Riko has branched out into the energy sector and construction industry. On international markets Riko is respected as a successful engineering company in car, tractor and aircraft manufacturing, energy sector, environmental protection, logistics and construction.
The representative of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the negotiations with Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna in Ljubljana on 6-7 July. In his words, both sides agreed to bolster Belarus-Slovenia contacts. Among other promising areas Stanislav Rascan mentioned Belarus-Slovenia ties in the energy sector and infrastructure. Riko is planning to take part in the implementation of these projects. The sides are also interested in strengthening contacts in tourism, including rural tourism.
