MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Union State programs should embrace a wider range of scientific areas, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told reporters on 10 June, BelTA has learned.

“We must understand that Union State programs do not solve all problems. They are one of the platforms, one of important instruments for the development of the technological potential of our countries,” Grigory Rapota said making an emphasis on scientific cooperation. “We would like these programs to embrace a wider range of areas. First of all, our scientists, academies of sciences, research institutes specializing in medicine, electronics, machine-building, new materials, biotechnologies are interested in it.”

At the same time, the state secretary deems it necessary to improve the mechanism of making decisions on Union State programs. According to Grigory Rapota, consultations on this issue are in progress.

The state secretary also said that the Forum of Regions in Minsk was productive.
