MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – In January-August of this year the rail freight traffic to Kazakhstan rose by 1.6 times year-on-year to total 3.4 million tonnes, BelTA learned from the press center of Belarusian Railways.
The main cargo items were coal, oil and petroleum products, ferrous metals, grain, sugar and other food products, construction and forestry goods, paper and coke.
"Belarusian Railways is interested in advancing cooperation with Belarusian economic entities and promoting Belarusian exports to foreign markets with the use of rail transport," the press center noted.
